Eye Checkup

Keratoconus is a progressive eye condition in which the cornea, the transparent front surface of the eye, gradually becomes thinner and develops an irregular cone-like shape. This change affects how light enters the eye, resulting in distorted vision and difficulty focusing.

It may cause symptoms such as blurred vision, increasing sensitivity to light, frequent changes in spectacle prescription, double vision, glare or difficulty seeing clearly at night. As the condition advances, irregular corneal shape can make conventional glasses or contact lenses less effective.

At Siliguri Greater Lions Eye Hospital, our Keratoconus Management services focus on identifying corneal changes at an early stage and providing suitable treatment to slow disease progression and improve visual quality.

The evaluation begins with a detailed eye examination and specialized corneal imaging to assess thickness, curvature and structural changes. Based on the findings, our ophthalmologists recommend appropriate management options, which may include corneal cross-linking, specialized contact lenses or corneal transplantation in advanced cases, along with regular monitoring to maintain visual health.
